Goal 9: To find variable stars in the Sgr dwarf

Sgr RR Lyrae are well within reach and can be readily identified. RR Lyrae would give the 3-D structure of Sgr [1]. In order to measure the depth and the tilt of Sgr along the line of sight, mean RR Lyrae magnitudes good to 0.01 mag are necessary. This can be achieved in the bulge fields provided enough epochs are observed. We will also detect and measure Carbon stars, Semiregulars, and eclipsing binary members of the Sgr dwarf galaxy (type-II Cepheids are expected in the bulge, but classical Cepheids are not, these would be found in the disk).
